The Working Machine of your LIFE!
Quote of the day
‘The human body is a complex
machine, by far the most complex of all machines with an eyesight equivalent to
576 megapixels, a memory capacity of 1 Quadrillion bits of info, a 30 foot
gastrointestinal tract, a 70m2 surface area respiratory organ and a
heart that beats 100,000 times a day.’
Dear Friends, if we need to live onto
100 years then we need to make adjustments to our lives. We need to maintain
our body so that it may perform to the best of its ability. Our body is indeed
a complex machine capable of incredible tasks. Therefore we need to look after
it from birth to death to avoid the onset of possible diseases as we get older
such as diabetes II, dementia, cancer, coronary heart disease, depression,
osteoporosis, glaucoma, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, cataracts, age related
muscular degeneration and hearing loss. A healthy body attuned to correct
eating, regular exercises and good hygiene will last the pace and ward off the
so called aging diseases. Every part of our body plays a critical role to our
success story. We cannot ignore the one and focus on the other. Our foods hold
the key to our success like lemons for Vitamin C, broccoli for Vitamin K +
Vitamin C to ensure healthier bone development, dark chocolate instead of light
chocolate helps lower blood pressure, a sweet potato a day has enough punch to
ward off cancer, salmon is an excellent source of omega – 3 fatty acids,
walnuts to reduce cholesterol, avocadoes for their richness in fibre, garlic to
inhibit bacterial growth and spinach for healthier eyes. We need to understand
our body like how we need to understand our car. We need to understand the
importance of correct top-ups and regular flushing. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys
and Girls we need our body in the way our body needs us. Our body speaks to us
in language that we often fail to ignore. It cries out when we over-indulge. It
cries out when we over exert ourselves. This language I refer to as our sixth
sense. It is very much like common-sense but it comes from a different channel,
like an angel talking to us. Don’t ignore that inner voice that constantly
tells you to watch out or to take care. You need lungs to breathe with so why pollute
them with smoking? You need a stomach to digest food so why eat the wrong foods?
You need eyes to see, so why should you neglect them? You need ears to hear so
why not take care of them? We need muscles for strength yet we lack the
strength to develop our muscles. We need our heart for blood circulation and to
maintain a gentle nature yet we consume foods that interfere with the flow of our
blood. Dear Friends, I urge you to take a serious look in the maintenance
programme of your body, the powerhouse of your actions and the science of your
life. You have the right to a life of 100 years, value it, treasure it and look
after it. Don’t place any part of your life in the hands of man. You are in charge
of your life, your body and your mind. Always remember that. It is never too
late to start.
